How to identify the initial spontaneous combustion of coal

due to fire in the mine, it must go through a certain stage from the spontaneous combustion of coal to the actual development of fire. According to the investigation of coal spontaneous combustion process, when it reaches the stage of dry distillation and ignition, there will be some obvious signs of ignition. In order to effectively improve the thermal insulation effectiveness, fire safety and expand the utilization area of products, we can distinguish the development of fire and find the fire source location according to these external symptoms:

(1) near the fire area, the temperature and humidity increase, and sometimes there is fog or sweating on the roadway wall, and water vapor on the wellhead or roadway entrance. This is because at the initial stage of coal oxidation, water will be released from the coal, which will increase the air temperature in the roadway. This measurement will be fruitless. At the same time, when hot air escapes from the fire area, water vapor condenses when encountering cold air, and fog often appears in the roadway; When the moist hot air contacts the roadway wall, water droplets can appear on the roadway wall; During shallow mining, water vapor or melting of ice and snow can also be found in the ground collapse area or near the borehole in winter

(2) special smell can be smelled in the roadway. Various gases produced by coal in the process of spontaneous combustion have a special smell similar to kerosene and turpentine, and various production enterprises have taken measures to reduce production capacity and stabilize prices. When this smell can be smelled, it indicates that coal has been spontaneous combustion to a considerable extent

(3) the human body feels uncomfortable. When the temperature of coal rises, it will inevitably produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other gases. People will feel headache, sultry, fatigue, limb weakness and so on when breathing this gas

(4) the temperature of air and water flowing out of the fire area increased

from the above external characteristics of coal spontaneous combustion, it can be confirmed whether the coal in this region has started self unified combustion. However, some symptoms, for different people, feel different. However, it is of great significance to learn to identify the external signs of spontaneous combustion without detection instruments on site, to timely find and take effective self-help protective measures, and to ensure personal safety. Of course, using gas analysis to identify the initial fire is a relatively reliable method widely used at home and abroad
